On the 16th July I became a childminder. It was an accomplishment and a box ticked in my career goals. I am extremely proud of my job title however I am still working on the job description as this can vary, quite considerably on a daily basis.
I am always looking for new (and old) ways of entertaining the children I care for and part of the reason for starting this blog was to keep a journal of the activities that were a success and some that perhaps weren't. It is trial and error in this job; what works for some children, may not for others. I want to inspire them, capture their imagination and provide opportunities for them to learn in their own pace by exploring and discovering things for themselves.
I have no shame in admitting that sometimes I am just out of ideas, so I will gladly provide you with the web pages I have turned to in these desperate times. Everything is on the Internet, you just have to look!
